So, think of your fave rock-goddess muse… ok, now imagine if she was at a festival today – what would she be wearing? This was the question we put to ourselves on designing Lolita – Festival 17.  It’s a fun place to start I can tell you… and this collection pretty much sums up our rock-goddess-reincarnate musings!!

Given, our fantasy festival muse is part Penny Lane (that ‘Tiny Dancer’ scene in Almost Famous is what dreams are made of!), part Jenny off Forrest Gump, part us at Falls Festival circa 1994… but it’s also part our latest festival muse Annalise McLachlan.

I still remember during Splendour 2014, still at the festival, Mel Carrero sent me a picture she’d photographed of this incredible muse strolling through the festival. Her name was Annalise and she was wearing this crazy denim/leather tasselled jacket and was adorned with feathers and bindi’s and looked like she was out of some kind of festival dreamscape… We didn’t know who she was but we re-posted the image and, well it went viral. We’ve had a girl crush on her ever since, and she’s arguably become the face of Australian festival fashion (pinned a billion times over, we swear), a bonafide Spell muse on our moodboards and in turn the only choice for the face of Festival ’17.
